Overview
Defines vicinity contactless cards at 13.56 MHz with a longer read range (up to ~1.5 m) compared to ISO 14443. Commonly used in library books, industrial asset tracking, and laundry tags. Lower data rate than ISO 14443 but works at greater distances.
Why it matters for RFID
Used in library RFID systems worldwide, and for HF RFID applications that need more range than proximity cards.
