ISO/IEC 16390
ISO/IEC 16390 - Information technology - Automatic identification and data capture techniques - Interleaved 2 of 5 bar code symbology specification
Overview
Defines Interleaved 2 of 5: a numeric-only symbology where two digits are encoded per character pair (one in the bars, one in the spaces), giving high density. ITF-14 (the 14-digit GTIN barcode used on corrugated cases) is a fixed-length application of this standard.
Why it matters for RFID
The base specification for ITF-14 and any other Interleaved 2 of 5 application. Common on shipping cartons because of its density and the bearer bar tolerance specified in the annex.
