How to decode an EPC

  1. Paste the hexadecimal or decimal EPC value read from your RFID tag, or try an example.
  2. Select Parse to decode the identifier and inspect the results.
  3. Explore the segment chips and bit diagram to understand the encoded fields.

Understand your RFID tag data

The EPC header identifies the encoding scheme, such as SGTIN-96 or SSCC-96. The remaining fields depend on the scheme and can include a filter, partition, company prefix, item reference, and serial number. The parser displays the decoded fields alongside tag and pure identity URIs when available.
